How do I sync products with my Awkward Styles store?

The synchronization process works for any store you have connected using Awkward Styles' integrations

Whether your store is from Etsy, WooCommerce or Shopify, synchronization needs to take place before orders can start coming in from your store on those platforms into your Awkward Styles store and, ultimately, delivered to your customers.

What is synchronization?

Synchronization is the process in which the products uploaded to your sales channel are imported into your Awkward Styles store, and vice versa.

Note that this is not the same as importing orders: synchronizing your listings only means you can see and interact with the products available on one platform via a different platform (e.g. see your Etsy listings via your Awkward Styles account).

How do I sync my products?

There's two ways synchronization can take place:

  1. From your Awkward Styles store into your sales channel (Etsy, Shopify or WooCommerce): whenever you create a product template and upload it to your store, it will be automatically synced with your sales channel, no extra steps needed.

  2. From your sales channel (Etsy, Shopify, WooCommerce) into your Awkward Styles store: new listings you create on your sales channel won't be instantly synchronized with Awkward Styles; you need to synchronize them by going to your products page, then clicking on "Synchronize Products" and selecting the store you'd like to sync.

After your products are synchronized, you'll need to do SKU mapping, which is the process where you assign SKUs on Awkward Styles' side to each product imported from your sales channel. In order to do this, click on "Edit" on any of your non-synced products:

You'll be taken to the Variations page, where you'll be able to assign a product from Awkward Styles to your imported product. To do this, click on "Sync Product" and choose the equivalent Awkward Styles product from your templates.

After synchronizing your products this way, Awkward Styles' system will know exactly which product to send to production every time an order comes in from your sales channel for the listing you synced. This means orders can start to come in, good news!
